This picture is a combination of a picture from my personal collection while playing Ultimate Frisbee while the other picture is actually from the zombie movie Dawn of the Dead. The picture was manipulated by placing my body into the picture to make it seem like I was being chased by a horde of vicious zombies. It was manipulated to present one of the big rules of surviving the zombie apocalypse, and that rule is cardio. If you can run you can survive. The manipulation may be harmful because some person might actually believe that the zombie apocalypse is actually here causing mass hysteria leading to riots and panic.

Powerpoint Presentations

Out of the presentations that were presented I found Aaron and Caroline's to be the best. Aaron did the topic of preserving national parks and used pictures to his advantage. Overall the pictures made the powerpoint and made me feel like I wanted to help national parks. Caroline had a good use of font and background. Both the font and the background contributed to the subject of drama that she was doing. She also made good use of putting multiple parts into one slide effectively. I had no clue that Trinity had something of that sort available to students. This place could be helpful if you need to edit things or run something that your personal computer may not be able to handle. They also have a good distribution of both PCs and Macs (which I despise, along with the commercials). Since we are just about to get into using photoshop, we could utilize this and work in CLT if we decided that it was necessary. CLT would also prove useful for other class projects that had to do with multimedia editing. Some things that I have learned about excel is different sorts of functions that can be used to calculate things. The only function that we went over that I was not already familiar with was the IF function would could prove to be useful when setting up spreadsheets where you want to create criteria for certain things. Conditional formatting was also something that I was not familiar with until this class and it could be useful if you needed to highlight specific data that matched a certain criteria. The final thing that I really was unaware of in excel was the absolute cell reference. As we have done many times throughout our time with excel it could come in handy if you were calculating something like payroll, car payments, anything that had to do with a number that needs to stay constant. Businesses and academic fields tend to use excel a lot because it is a fairly simple and effective way to organize and present data whether it is table format or in a type of graph. Overall I learned some new things in excel that i believe could come in handy later on in life.

Using Search Engines

In the subject of searching for information on the internet I learned a few new things about searching for topics on search engines such like google. A few things that I learned from Mr. Nolan were the fact that you can use the “I’m Feeling Lucky” button next to the search button on google in order to find the website that is the most relevant to your search criteria. Also I was unaware of the fact that you can actually find scholarly articles using the more search on the top toolbar. This will give you articles that aren’t like Wikipedia and other websites that aren’t from scholarly journals. It would actually be useful to use these articles for a project or paper that requires scholarly articles. Something I already knew was that you can narrow search results by putting in a minus sign before the word that you want to exclude from the search. I random thing I also didn’t know was that you could alter the amount of search results that are displayed per page once you have searched it. Also in the advanced search you can narrow down the types of files that show up in the search like .pdf files or .doc files.

Pictures That Lie

This picture of OJ Simpson was the original mugshot that was taken after he was arrested on murder charges in 1994. If you really think about it the companies and people do lose a certain amount of profit from these downloads but you also have to look at from a different perspective. Say somebody who went and saw a movie in theaters and wanted to watch it they paid money and then got it for free, the industry isn't losing a ton of money. Also look at musicians if people want to download your music then so be it but you will still have people that will buy cd's, attend concerts, and buy memorabilia which contribute a fair share of cash. Also do the artists really need that extra million dollars when people are just scraping by and want some music? Darn Lil Wayne can't buy a full gold pimp cup, what a crime.

Should people be able to download for free? Yes. People download all the time and movies still make millions and the same with artists. Look at the band Nine Inch Nails, they put a few albums out for free and have had no problem turning a profit.

Trinity Network Diagram

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 247px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_GAMALKtiHVY/Sq-WPs5w6FI/AAAAAAAAAA4/36s1mSZd_ao/s320/network+photo.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5381685276226676818" />

Trinity Tech

So far Trinity Technology hasn't been disappointing but also not exactly stellar. I have to say I do enjoy the fact that you can get wireless internet practically anywhere on campus but at the cost of Clean Access Agent. The program to me still seems a bit buggy for what version it is at. Having to log in constantly gets on my nerves and having my computer being monitored no matter how little is a bit unnerving.

All in all Mr. Hatch knew what he was talking about and I might end up looking at CCleaner although it isn't likely I will use it often if at all. The internet speed is also nice here for the most part but that is compared to the DSL I have at home so pretty much anything is going to be faster than that.

Although the MOST ANNOYING thing right now naturally has to do with CCAA, it refuses to remember our usernames and passwords so not only does there have to be constant logging in, we also have to enter the username and password each time instead of just hitting enter.

Hey there, I'm William Prudich and I typically just go by Will. I am from a medium size town about 45 minutes north of Dallas called McKinney. http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=33.196445,-96.661604&z=12&t=h&hl=en I was actually born in McKinney so I consider myself an "OG" if you will. Surprisingly the hospital I was born in is no longer even in existence. My main interests are pretty much the sciences, particularly Biology. As of right now I am looking to get a Biology degree and move onto Medical School after my time here at Trinity. I am also a big football fan (Go Steelers) and enjoy pretty much any sport there is. As of right now my interest has gone towards Ultimate Frisbee which is a very legit sport for those questioning. My secret fact is that I am actually a pretty big nerd, I surf Digg, Failblog, Break and play CS, CS:S, and Team Fortress 2. As for my computer background I surely do not know everything but I do know enough about the systems to keep myself away from ITS. If I don't know how to fix something it just so happens that I already have an even more computer inept older brother who can help me with the problems. Click to Email me

First Post

Hello Blog World.
